LEIPZIG, Germany — Leipzig signed South Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan in the latest transfer from sister club Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old Hwang, who has made 32 appearances for South Korea, signed a five-year deal with Leipzig and will wear the No. 11 jersey, the Bundesliga club said.
Hwang is the 17th transfer from Austrian side Salzburg to Leipzig, which is also backed by the Red Bull energy drinks company. He follows the likes of Naby Keita, Amadou Haidara, Dayot Upamecano and Konrad Laimer in making the switch to Germany.
