Cliff Lee remained a Phillie Sunday, and the Phillies remained nearly incapable of getting him a victory. They won anyway, tying the Arizona Diamondbacks in the eighth inning and prevailing in the ninth 5-4 on Ryan Howard's one-out, bases-loaded single. By that time, the hard-luck Lee was out of the game, having lasted eight innings but been done in by three Arizona home runs before yielding to Jonathan Papelbon, who got the victory. He remained 2-6 on the year, his ERA a still-respectable 3.78.
Lee still a member of the Phillies
