LaVar Ball has had quite a week. His home was burglarized , he appeared on ESPN and schooled Marcellus Wiley in a game of 1-on-1, and he’s now preparing for his oldest son, Lonzo, to play his first NCAA Tournament game on Friday night. But he’s apparently not so busy that he can’t make another absurd comparison about his son’s athletic ability. In an interview with TIME, he shared his confidence in his son -- a likely lottery pick in the upcoming NBA Draft -- by stacking him up against the best players in the entire world. And his latest proclamation takes his antics to an entirely insane, almost unbelievable level. Here’s the clip from TIME: “To me Zo is the best player in the world,” LaVar says. Yes, even better than all-stars LeBron James and Russell Westbrook. “I don’t know if he can beat them one on one,” Ball says, conceding the NBA stars are stronger than his son, the Pac-12 freshman of the year and an expected top pick in the upcoming NBA draft. “But I know he can beat them 5 on 5.” So to recap: Lonzo is better than LeBron James and every other basketball player in the world. LaVar’s not sure he would be better if they played in a game of 1-on-1. But he definitely would if it were 5-on-5.
LaVar Ball finally said it: Lonzo, not LeBron, is the best player in the world
