The last wave of pitchers who have not yet faced hitters will take to the mounds this morning at the Roger Dean Stadium complex for their live batting practice. Adam Wainwright headlines a group of seven pitchers set to face their teammates in the drill manager Mike Matheny has rechristened "pitchers practice." Live BP really isn't all that much about the BP. Even this early in camp, the fourth day of live BP, most of the veteran hitters aren't taking aggressive swings in the cage. Some don't like hitting in the cage on the field. Others are just getting their timing. The live BP scenario often sets up situations a pitcher is likely never going to see. Randy Choate pitching against Matt Holliday comes to mind -- and that happened a few days ago.
