Chelsea boss Frank Lampard wants to make it three attacking signings in a matter of months to complete his exciting front line, according to a report.

The Blues have already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. Chelsea announced the deal for Ziyech in February with Werner signing in June after links with Liverpool.

The pair have added another exciting dimension to an attack already bursting with talent. Indeed, the signings will undoubtedly help Chelsea to close the gap on the Reds and Manchester City next season.

According to Football Insider, however, Chelsea want more. The source says Lampard “has his eye” on a “stellar” centre-forward, although the report names no players.

Chelsea already have four recognised forwards with Werner, Olivier Giroud, Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi. However, Batshuayi looks likely to leave before the start of next season, leaving Lampard with a spot to fill.

As well as the centre-forwards, Christian Pulisic has made himself known after a poor start. Injuries initially hampered his progress, but he proved unmissable following the Premier League’s restart.

The decision to again focus on attackers is a “twist” to Chelsea’s transfer plans, with the focus shifting in recent weeks.
