Troy Daniels had received interest from the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder before ultimately signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Bill Oram of The Athletic.
Daniels received a minimum deal from the Lakers, citing Anthony Davis and general manager Rob Pelinka as reasons why he chose Los Angeles. And as for his $2.1 million contract? Daniels wasn’t surprised.
“You’ve got to win in this league to get paid, and I totally understand that,” said Daniels.
Daniels spent the 2018-19 campaign with the Phoenix Suns, playing in 51 games and averaging 6.2 points over 14.9 minutes per contest while shooting 41.1 percent from the floor, 38.1 percent from 3-point range and 78.3 percent from the free-throw line.
