LaDainian Tomlinson would have a remarkable career with the San Diego Chargers (now Los Angeles Chargers) before ending his career with the New York Jets. Despite playing the latter part of his career with Philip Rivers, Tomlinson wishes he played his entire career with Drew Brees.
Tomlinson began his career with the Chargers as the No. 5 pick in the 2001 NFL Draft out of TCU. After San Diego took Tomlinson, it would select Brees in the second round of the draft. As a result, both of them had an immediate bond once they arrived in the NFL.
For Tomlinson, he would immediately be a key cog in the team’s offense as a rookie. The former All-Pro running back would rush for 1,236 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first season in the NFL.
