Texans quarterback Matt Schaub missed a second day of practice to attend the funeral of a close family member but he is expected to return for Wednesday’s two workouts. In Schaub’s absence T.J. Yates and Case Keenum have split time working with the starters. “They’re both doing some good things and some bonehead things” Kubiak said “but what an opportunity for two kids. It’s very competitive. We go back right now (to the office) to look at about 50 reps this morning to see how they played. The whole team’s watching too so it’s an interesting situation that’s making everyone better. It’s awesome for (Yates and Keenum) and I think it’s going to be good for us coaches as we try to make this evaluation. It’s kind of like having extra preseason games for me because of what’s taking place. Kubiak said he’d likely play Keenum behind Schaub in the Miami game Saturday night to give him more time with the No. 2 offense. He mostly played with the “threes” in Minnesota.
