Kris Bryant made the third All-Star appearance of his career this past week but if you ask him, that's simply not enough.
"Honestly? I'm pissed," the Chicago Cubs third baseman told Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic regarding his 2019 season. "I'm not satisfied with what I've done. I'm not happy with it. But I have to realize that I need to appreciate this. Not everybody has the numbers that I have right now or makes an All-Star team and is pissed about it. But that's just who I am. It's not good enough for me."
Bryant broke into the league in a big way in 2015, taking home unanimous Rookie of the Year honors with an .858 OPS and 26 home runs over 151 games.
The year after was no different, as Bryant built on his rookie performance by posting a .292/.385/.554 slash line with 39 homers to claim the National League MVP award in his sophomore campaign.
