Prior to Thursday night the Dallas Cowboys were the team catching grief for pitiful performances over the last three weeks. But by the end of the night it was the Washington Redskins defending themselves after an ugly 38-14 loss. Washington simply played sloppy football. The Redskins turned the ball over four times (three times in the first half) and committed more than twice as many penalties as the Cowboys. But according to quarterback Kirk Cousins, it wasn't from a lack of trying. “If you think it’s a lack of effort, you just don’t know football,” he said (via The Washington Post). “We were playing hard. It was just miscues.” Cousins was 26 of 37 for 251 yards with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions that weren't really his fault.
