The Texas Rangers and Ian Kinsler have agreed on the length of a contract extension but are still negotiating the financial terms of a deal that could take the second baseman to the end of his career. General manager Jon Daniels, said a baseball source, was planning to discuss the latest progress Wednesday afternoon with team president Nolan Ryan before getting back to Kinsler's agent, Jay Franklin. Franklin was at Dr Pepper Ballpark for the Rangers' exhibition game against their Double A affiliate. He said that Kinsler will stick to his decision to not negotiate during the season. The Rangers open the season Friday against the Chicago White Sox.
