It may have been all in fun, but chants of "Leafs suck, Leafs suck," rang out when Zdeno Chara cost Phil Kessel another car Thursday night. With a strong Senators bias, fans packed into the Casino du Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, across the pond from Ottawa, and razzed Kessel, who last year won a new car as the last overall pick in the NHL all-star fantasy draft. Kessel only had to sweat it out through 14 picks before Chara, perhaps with some prodding from his assistant captain, Maple Leafs forward and Kessel linemate Joffrey Lupul, called out his name. "It's not like last year," Kessel said into the TSN cameras, flashing a grin. "But I don't think it really matters." Asked if he had any advice for the player picked last, Kessel said: "Don't worry about it. It's not a big deal." Maybe not a big deal, but certainly not a bad deal if you can suck up your pride. And San Jose Sharks Logan Couture will be the rone riding home in a new car.
Kessel saved from all-star shame
