Kansas star freshman Billy Preston did not play in the Jayhawks game against Kentucky, coach Bill Self announced Tuesday just before tipoff. Self said that Preston was in an auto accident on campus and when it was reported, there were questions about his car. So until those are answered, he's not playing. "On Saturday, Billy was involved in a single vehicle incident on campus," Self said in a Kansas Basketball tweet. "There were no injuries but Billy's car sustained damage. After I learned about the incident, I reported it to our administration. The administration determined that we needed a clearer financial picture specific to the vehicle, we decided to hold him out of tonight's game and will continue to do that until the review is complete. "Billy was informed right before our pre-game meal. Needless to say, he was disappointed and crushed. He was very excited to make his KU debut. We hope to have the situation resolved as soon as possible." Self elaborated a bit after the game — a 65-61 Kansas victory — but didn't have a lot of specifics regarding the process going forward or the how long it will take before Preston can possibly return.
