Oklahoma State basketball coach Mike Boynton is at it again landing another big-time prospect on the recruiting front — this time in the form of a high-profile transfer. Former Kansas guard Bryce Thompson announced his move to the Cowboys Thursday, giving Boynton and his staff another key addition to the 2021 recruiting class.

Thompson was rated as a five-star recruit coming out of Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington in the 2020 class and spent just one season at Kansas before entering the transfer portal in mid-April. The McDonald's All-American was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 20 overall prospect and No. 4 combo guard in his class. Thompson was also ranked as the top recruit in Oklahoma.

The 6-foot-5, 188-pound guard averaged 4.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and shot 35.3% from the field during his freshman season with the Jayhawks. Thompson made four starts and played in 20 games, missing 13 games due to a finger injury that required surgery.
