Kansas coach Les Miles won’t travel with the team to Morgantown, despite getting cleared by Kansas Team Health to do just that. The second-year Jayhawk boss, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week, said the decision came after “several in-depth conversations.”
Kansas recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach Joshua Eargle will serve as interim coach for the Jayhawks, who are looking for their first win of the 2020 season. Eargle was interim head coach at Austin Peay, and also had full-time head coaching experience at East Texas Baptist University.
“Yesterday, I received clearance from Kansas Team Health to travel with our football team to Morgantown. I am very grateful for the high level of care that I have received throughout my time since I tested positive for COVID-19 early last week. I continue to feel healthy and strong, and was fortunate to only have mild symptoms," Miles said in a statement.
