Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri drew ire and plenty of criticism for a collision with Minnesota Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom on Wednesday. Backstrom, 35, tried to play through the pain but eventually made way for Josh Harding. That might sound like a blessing in disguise for Minnesota because Harding’s been so dominant, but Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston points out that the 29-year-old was feeling ill this morning. So it’s not exactly an ideal situation. We’ll see if the NHL eventually decides if Kadri, 23, deserves supplemental discipline.
