The Detroit Tigers might appear to be a bit reserved. But that doesn't mean they're lacking effort or focus or concentration. That might be the best way to sum up what Tigers manager Jim Leyland had to say when he was asked Tuesday about a comment relief pitcher Octavio Dotel made to the Detroit News for a story Monday. "We've got a lot of laid-back guys on this team, but that doesn't mean they're laid-back when they're playing," Leyland said. "That doesn't mean the concentration or the fire's not there. If you look around, Omar Infante doesn't talk much, Jhonny (Peralta) doesn't talk much, Miguel (Cabrera) doesn't talk much, Prince (Fielder) doesn't really say much, Brennan Boesch doesn't say much. A lot of that has to do with our personalities.
Justin Verlander, Jim Leyland say lack of 'rah-rah' type players is personality trait, not personality flaw
