Jurgen Klopp gave a prickly response when asked about Chelsea beating Liverpool to Timo Werner's signature.
The Reds had been in hot pursuit of the Germany international, but was forced to pull out of the transfer race due to the finances involved.
Chelsea stole a march and completed the deal from under Liverpool, announcing the £50million transfer of Werner on their official website on Thursday.
Klopp's Liverpool are two victories away from winning a very first Premier League title this season, and take on Merseyside rivals Everton on Sunday.
Ahead of the contest Klopp was asked for his thoughts on Chelsea beating Liverpool to Werner, and had a rather prickly response.
"That's not really funny," said the Reds boss. "We don't really speak about transfers we potentially do. And now I would speak about the transfer of Chelsea?
