Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp refused to be downbeat after his side dropped two more points in a 0-0 draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby.

The Reds were unable to find a way past an inspired Jordan Pickford, who superbly tipped Darwin Nunez's dipping shot onto the crossbar before parrying Mohamed Salah's injury-time drive onto the base of the left post.

The Reds have endured a difficult start to the league season and were again below their best against the Toffees, who were spurred on by a tremendous atmosphere at Goodison Park.

Everton could have even won the game, but Conor Coady saw a goal ruled out offside in addition to Neal Maupay missing a glorious opportunity. That Maupay chance, which was saved by Alisson, was one of the talking points raised by Klopp after the game, who said that his side must continue to look forward rather than dwelling on dropping further points.
