The Miami Marlins, with the club’s fire sale still fully ablaze, have notably elected to part ways with a slew of veteran talent early on this offseason. With such a trend set to continue, FanRag Sports has learned that catcher J.T. Realmuto has now asked the Marlins to trade him given what has happened in Miami this offseason. Craig Mish of SiriusXM was the first to report Realmuto’s request on Monday morning. However, it is still unknown as to how exactly the Marlins responded to Realmuto, but it certainly makes sense for the National League East ball club to at least consider such a possibility. Miami has already traded away stars Dee Gordon, Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna as new ownership, led by Derek Jeter, tries to slash payroll and turn a profit on a team that has struggled mightily as of late.
