With college football camps right around the corner, head coach Mark Richt and the Miami Hurricanes parted ways with one of their underclassmen tight ends on Tuesday. The program announced that Jovani Haskins is no longer a member of the football program. “I talked to Jovani and we both felt it was in his best interests to get a fresh start somewhere else,” Richt said in a statement. “We wish him all the best in his future plans.” The Bergenfield, N.J., product redshirted this past season. Haskins, receiver O’Juan Carney, tight end Michael Irvin, defensive linemen Tyreic Martin and Gerald Willis, and defensive backs Jeff James, Jr. and Cedrick Wright were suspended for the Russell Athletic Bowl against the West Virginia Mountaineers for failing to meet the standards of expectations set by the program.
