Josh Beckett has had a rough 2012 season, and because of this, the Red Sox might be open to trading him. In order to do that this year, though, he needs to clear waivers. Boston placed Beckett on waivers on Thursday morning, and because of his significant salary over the next two-plus years, it's very likely he'll go unclaimed. Once he's unclaimed and clears waivers, he can be traded anywhere. Whether he will be, or should be, is a different discussion, though.
