The Premier League champions have rejected two offers from Jose Mourinho’s side with the latest dismissed “out of hand”. But it appears the Blues aren’t willing to end their attempts to secure Rooney’s services and a source close to the London club has told talkSPORT that their pursuit of the England man is an “ongoing process”. Mourinho stated last month that Rooney is his final transfer target of the summer after Chelsea's initial bid was rejected. The 27-year-old wants out of United following the breakdown of his relationship with former boss Sir Alex Ferguson who claimed the forward asked for a transfer back in May and is keen to work with Mourinho. Rooney has no issue with new United boss David Moyes but still feels Fergie has plenty of influence at Old Trafford and has made up his mind about leaving. He has withdrawn from United’s pre-season friendly against AIK Stockholm on Wednesday night although that is being put down to a shoulder injury picked up in a behind closed doors game against Real Betis on Saturday.
