The starter who leads the Nationals' rotation in both ERA and innings is not one of the two going to the All-Star Game. Jordan Zimmermann has a lower ERA (2.77) and has thrown more innings (97 1/3) than either Stephen Strasburg or Gio Gonzalez. Zimmermann has not been as dominant as those two, but he has been the most consistent, which is not surprising for a 26-year-old defined by his consistency. Zimmermann has pitched at least six innings and allowed four runs or less in every one of his 15 starts this year. Ryan Vogelsong is the only other pitcher who can say that. (Justin Verlander has pitched at least six innings in all of his starts, but he allowed five runs in one of them. So he's pretty close, too.)
