Catcher Kelly Shoppach saw the best of Jon Lester in last night's 6-1 Red Sox victory against the Seattle Mariners in the first of a two-game series at Fenway Park. Shoppach and Lester hooked up as batterymates for the third time this season to extend the Sox' home win streak to four games. In their previous collaborations, Lester suffered his first loss, to the Toronto Blue Jays on April 11, and got a no-decision, against the Baltimore Orioles on May 4. Lester improved to 2-3 and a 3.71 ERA with his signature performance of the season against the Mariners. He threw his first nine-inning complete game since June 27, 2010, at San Francisco.
