Midway through the season, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid and Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic were neck-and-neck in the MVP race. However, Embiid has since fallen back in the fight after he suffered a knee injury in early March and missed 10 straight games in the process.
Now, many believe that Jokic has the MVP honor in the bag.
Doc Rivers, nonetheless, doesn’t believe that’s necessarily the case. For the Sixers coach, Embiid still has a great chance to earn votes for the top player plum, especially if they get the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
