The Philadelphia 76ers will open their 2017-18 season Wednesday night against the Washington Wizards, and with “The Process” resulting in the team stockpiling young talent there’s some optimism in the City of Brotherly Love. One of those key young options is center Joel Embiid, who has only appeared in 31 games in his first three seasons in the NBA due to foot and knee injuries. Wednesday morning 76ers head coach Brett Brown revealed the team’s starting lineup for the opener, and Embiid is one of those five players. Also starting will be rookie Ben Simmons, Jerryd Bayless, J.J. Redick and Robert Covington. Unfortunately for Embiid he will be on a minutes restriction, as Brown would like to keep the promising big man at around 16 minutes played for Wednesday’s opener.
