Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said in the immediate wake of the Reds' elimination from the postseason that Reds manager Dusty Baker will be back. Asked if there was any question about Baker returning Jocketty said: "I don't think so" Jocketty said. "He's signed for another year." Baker 64 signed a two-year extension after last season. He has led the Reds to the playoffs in three of the last four years. But they've been eliminated in the first round of the postseason each year. The final call on Baker's future will be in the hands of owner Bob Castellini. Castellini was at the final game. He was walking out with his group when the Pittsburgh Pirates recorded the final out. Jocketty will meet with his staff and discuss possible changes. "It's too early to say at this point" he said. "We'll sit down in the next couple of weeks and evaluate and try to see what we can do to improve things." Baker looked exhausted in the aftermath of the loss. This ending stung. "It's very difficult because it's like I don't know unbelievable actually" Baker said. "Our club has been through a lot of things on and off the field. Our club stuck together. We realize now that we still got some more work to do. We've got some improvements to make.
