The Jets will meet with tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins' representatives in the coming days to discuss a contract, a league source told NJ Advance Media. Seferian-Jenkins is a pending unrestricted free agent. The free agency negotiating period begins March 12. The signing period begins March 14. Before March 12, agents of pending free agents can officially negotiate only with a player's current team. So the Jets have exclusive negotiating rights for Seferian-Jenkins at this point. And they are clearly interested in retaining Seferian-Jenkins, at least at the right price. Seferian-Jenkins has already turned down a two-year, $8 million offer from the Jets. He is looking for a contract worth about $7 million per year, according to another source.
