The Jets fired GM Mike Maccagnan, after he was entrusted to allocate $100MM+ in cap room and use the No. 3 overall pick in the draft.

The Jets appointed new head coach Adam Gase as their interim GM.

The leader in the clubhouse for the “permanent” post is Eagles executive Joe Douglas.

Gase, who endorses Douglas, did not want the team to sign Le’Veon Bell. Bell is under contract through 2022 on a $52MM deal.

And, now, the latest – the Jets have their eyes on NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah for “a prominent front-office position,” sources tell ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter
