Facing an uncertain future at the quarterback position, the Jets had senior personnel executive Terry Bradway in position to scout West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith today. Going to Pro Days is not necessarily an indication the Jets will pick Smith -- they had scouts at Rutgers' Pro Day on Wednesday and Harvard's Pro Day Thursday, for example -- although it does show a continued pattern of interest in the versatile QB. According to a person with knowledge of the situation, the Jets scouted Smith in Morgantown this season. And even though the GM has changed places, the front office staff behind him has not. Idzik has been working with Bradway, assistant GM Scott Cohen and the rest of the group throughout the process. Last season Smith was 369-of-518 passing for 4,205 yards, 42 touchdowns and six interceptions. The Jets met with each of the top 10 QB draft prospects at the combine late last month.
