The 2017 season has been one full of frustration and injuries for New York Jets running back Matt Forte. Now it’s over, as the Jets have placed the veteran on injured reserve heading into the final weekend of the current campaign. The team also put Akeem Judd on IR, activating running back Jahad Thomas and wide receiver Lucky Whitehead (formerly a member of the Dallas Cowboys) in corresponding roster moves, as detailed by the team’s official website. Forte has been battling through a nagging knee injury, forcing him to miss three games. He only started four games all year and appeared in 12, tallying 674 yards from scrimmage and three total touchdowns. Before the 2016 season, Forte signed a three-year deal with the Jets after the Chicago Bears declined to re-sign him.
