Jets HC Todd Bowles told reporters on Wednesday that Josh McCown will be their starting quarterback for the remainder of the 2017 season, per Connor Hughes. It seemed like the Jets would eventually turn to either Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg at some point this season, but McCown has played well enough to keep the job, even though they don’t really have much to play for in terms of playoff contention. It will be interesting to see what the Jets do at quarterback next year. Many think they could target another prospect in the draft, but given how well McCown has played for them, there’s at least a chance they could try to re-sign him.
