With Steve Mason out with a concussion, the Winnipeg Jets are facing some uncertainty between the pipes and farm hand Eric Comrie will get the first chance to fill the void. Head coach Paul Maurice confirmed on Monday morning that Steve Mason suffered a concussion in Saturday’s 4-0 loss to the San Jose Sharks after taking a shot off the mask in the first period. Maurice said Mason initially felt fine, but once he got to the locker room he started to feel off so the team pulled him from the game to be safe. “He got tested yesterday,” said Maurice. “I can’t tell you it’s a mild (concussion), but they certainly weren’t strong symptoms. But we’ll see over the next couple of days how it settles down.” Maurice said Mason is feeling nauseous so didn’t hesitate to put him on the IR. “We don’t mess around with (concussions), at all,” said Maurice.
