Defenseman Adam Larsson tied the game by scoring with 2:50 remaining in the third period and the Devils defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs, 2-1, in a shootout Wednesday night at Prudential Center. New Jersey native James van Riemsdyk, who had about 100 friends and relatives at the game, scored on a backhander with 8:11 remaining in the third period to give the Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead. Tyler Bozak sent van Riemsdyk in alone with a pass off the left wing boards and the big winger scored his 21st goal of the season. Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier stopped Mike Cammalleri when the Devils' forward skated in alone with 4:49 left in the third. But Larsson scored on a shot from the right point to tie it. Jacob Josefson and Patrik Elias scored in the shootout for the Devils, who are 3-6 this season.
