Jay-Z has been mentioned as a possibility for the halftime show at Super Bowl LII in Minnesota, but multiple reports indicate it is not going to happen. A source told The Sun that Jay-Z has no interest in performing at the Super Bowl despite rumors that he could take the stage with Justin Timberlake in one of the most highly-anticipated performances in the event’s history. “Lots of people have been saying Jay will perform with Justin Timberlake, but it is simply not the case,” the source said, according to Metro. “He has enough songs to create an incredible performance but he really has no plans to do the halftime show.” Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2013 and made another appearance at Super Bowl 50 two years ago. While it may be a coincidence, Jay-Z has been a supporter of Colin Kaepernick and gave him a shoutout during a recent concert. There is some belief that the 21-time Grammy Award winner might be unwilling to perform at the Super Bowl because of the perception that Kaepernick is being blackballed by NFL owners.
