During his eight seasons in Dallas, Jason Terry has experienced one NBA championship, two NBA Finals, was on a 67-win team that flamed out in the first round and a defending champ that got swept in the first round. But now Terry, who will be 35 next season, is eligible to become a free agent on July 1. Prior to and several times during the season Terry expressed his disappointment that he had not been offered a contract extension. "I grew up here," he said Saturday night, after the Mavericks blew a 13-point lead to Oklahoma City and became the fifth NBA champion to fail to win a playoff game in its title defense. "Being part of this community is a big part of who I am. It's a hard thing to swallow if I have to leave that behind. We'll see what happens."
