James Jones has come to learn that there's just one way the Green Bay Packers do business. So when friends were texting him that running back Steven Jackson had signed with the Packers, he knew to take it with a grain of salt. Being the high bidder for Jackson wouldn't have followed general manager Ted Thompson's draft-and-develop style. "Then I heard that we didn't (sign him) and he went to the Falcons," Jones said. "I was like, 'I can't have everyone texting me this stuff.' But Ted and those guys, they're always big on drafting guys. "We made it to the Super Bowl doing the same thing we've been doing. It will still be exciting." It is Thompson's previous drafts where the Packers will make up for losing free-agent receiver Greg Jennings to the Minnesota Vikings on Friday night. Jones, along with receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb and tight end Jermichael Finley, are the next men up in Thompson's system.
