The bronze statue of Hank Aaron located in front of Turner Field will remain in Atlanta even after the Braves move to SunTrust Park in Cobb County next year. Keisha Lance Bottoms, executive director of the Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority, stated Wednesday that her organization has recovered documents indicating the statue is owned by the authority. The Braves, on the other hand, had planned on bringing the statue with them to their new ballpark in 2017. “We were able to work out an agreement with the Braves," Bottoms said, via AJC.com. "We are very excited about it." However, Bob Hope, a longtime Atlanta marketing and public relations expert who organized the nonprofit that paid for the statue, believes the statue belonged to Aaron and it should be Aaron's choice as to where the statue is located.
