Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Jaguars are now expected to turn their attention to signing free agent WR Allen Robinson to a long-term extension. This comes after they signed QB Blake Bortles to a new three-year contract and cut a few players, which created $12.6M of cap space for them to work with. Last week, Robinson told Mike Kaye that he has not discussed a contract extension with the team since last year’s training camp. There has been some talk about whether they’ll use their franchise tag on him at the cost of around $16 million, but it appears as though their preference is to try to get a long-term deal done before the deadline to tag players.
