The Jaguars drafted a quarterback from Florida with the third pick in the draft. After the draft ended, they picked another quarterback from Florida. The process that began with Blake Bortles becoming the No. 3 pick ended with the Jags signing Miami quarterback Stephen Morris. The move reunites Morris with Jacksonville offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch, who worked at Miami before joining Gus Bradley’s staff. Fisch also ran the former Hurricanes quarterback’s Pro Day workout, and the relationship necessarily gives Morris an edge in the competition to make the team as the No. 3 option. Or, at worst, to secure one of the eight spots on the team’s practice squad.
