Everyone still on the Devils’ roster and their two “injured” players are on the ice for practice this morning at Prudential Center. Patrik Elias who was placed on injured reserve Monday after saying his “mystery injury is gone” is practicing for the second day in a row. He is eligible to come off injured reserve on Wednesday so he can still play in Thursday’s regular season opener in Pittsburgh. Mattias Tedenby who was designated Monday as an injured non-roster player also is practicing again. He sustained a lower-body (believed to be a groin strain) in practice on Sept. 20 but has been back skating for the last week. After skating on the fifth line with Tedenby and Josefson in Monday’s practice right wing Jaromir Jagr has moved up today to a line with Adam Henrique and Travis Zajac. Rostislav Olesz has been dropped to the line with Tedenby and Josefson. See all of today’s line combinations below. Former Devils goaltender Johan Hedberg who briefly attended training camp with the Rangers as a tryout is here watching practice today. Several players including Martin Brodeur and Adam Larsson went over to chat with Hedberg briefly before practice began. Before his tryout with the Rangers Hedberg had been discussing a possible off-ice job with the Devils. Here is the breakdown of the players on the ice for practice today: Forwards: Ryane Clowe-Patrik Elias-Damien Brunner Adam Henrique-Travis Zajac-Jaromir Jagr; Dainius Zubrus-Andrei Loktionov-Michael Ryder; Ryan Carter-Stephen Gionta-Steve Bernier; Rostislav Olesz-Jacob Josefson-Mattias Tedenby.
