The Blue Jackets this morning have confirmed reports in Slovakia that winger Marian Gaborik is being seen by a specialist in Philadelphia today for an abdominal injury. "It's just a maintenance issue," Blue Jackets president of hockey operations John Davidson said. "Every player had an exit physical, and in his physical he said there was some discomfort in his abdominal area. So, we're getting it checked out. We don't think it's anything other than a minor issue, but that's why you send your guys to specialists, to make sure." Davidson said the injury is not related to any of Gaborik's previous groin issues. If Gaborik is cleared by the specialist today, he'll immediately fly to Helsinki, Finland, to join Slovakia's team in the IIHF World Championships, which begin Friday. Davidson said he has no problem with Gaborik playing if today's appointment goes well.
