The Super Bowl was held in Texas, but that hardly guaranteed a warm reception for Jerry Jones. In fact, when the Dallas Cowboys owner was introduced during the first half of the game, he was loudly booed by thousands in attendance at Houston’s NRG Stadium. Jones was shown on the stadium monitors while being presented as part of the 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame class. The other six inductees, including LaDainian Tomlinson, Kurt Warner and Terrell Davis, were greeted with cheers, but Jones received a noticeably negative reaction. That the game was in Houston probably did not mean that the crowd there was heavily drawn from that city, which has a long-standing intrastate rivalry with Dallas. Thousands of Patriots and Falcons fans were in attendance, of course, as well as numerous others from all over the country.
