Iowa senior basketball player Devyn Marble is one of 30 players nationally on the Naismith Trophy midseason list, which was announced Thursday. Marble, a shooting guard, ranks second in the Big Ten in scoring (17.8) and is the only player to score in double figures in every Big Ten game this season. The 6-foot-6, 200 pounder also is the only Big Ten player averaging more than 16 points and 45 steals. The native of Southfield, Mich., is the only active Big Ten player and one of nine in the country to amass more than 1,525 points, 325 assists, 425 rebounds and 150 steals. The team co-captain has scored 26 points or more eight times in his career. Marble is one of four Big Ten players on the list, joining Gary Harris and Keith Appling of Michigan State, and Nik Stauskas of Michigan. Iowa State seniors Melvin Ejim and DeAndre Kane also made the cut. Marble and the No. 16 Hawkeyes travel to Penn State on Saturday for a 12:05 p.m. tip-off. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
