Inter Milan have not given up on signing Manchester City misfit Stevan Jovetic on a loan deal this month, Sports Direct News understands. The Serie A side received short shrift when their technical director Marco Branca contacted the Blues before Christmas with an enquiry, and a more formal approach was again knocked back after the January transfer window opened. However, Inter remain confident that they can exploit City’s private concerns about the £22million summer signing’s fitness record by offering a fee for a six-month loan deal and fixing a price for a permanent move this summer. The deal hinges on City buying a striker this month, because they have allowed Sweden under-21 forward John Guidetti to join Stoke City on loan for the rest of the campaign.
