The Panthers' top-line carousel continued to spin for the fourth time in four games Thursday night in a quick rematch with the Ottawa Senators. The result has been a comatose offense and a three-game tailspin. Center Stephen Weiss, a last-minute scratch with what General Manager Dale Tallon believes is a minor lower-body injury, joined linemate Kris Versteeg on the sideline, leaving Tomas Fleischmann as the lone survivor from arguably the most effective trio of the 2011-12 season. While Fleischmann did notch his first goal on a first-period power play, it wasn't enough to avert a 3-1 loss to the undefeated Senators in front of 15,634 disappointed fans at BB&T Center. Even Fleischmann's status may be in doubt for Saturday's game against the Flyers after showing the media his blood-soaked sock in postgame before heading to the training room for treatment.
