Prior to the Indians' double-header with the New York Yankees on Monday, the club has optioned third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall down to Triple-A Columbus, selected David Huff and re-called Trevor Bauer. Chisenhall has been marred in a hitting slump and hasn't taken control of the third base job like the Indians had hoped. To date, he's hitting just .213 with three home runs and 11 RBI. Considering two games on the slate for Monday, and Chris Perez dealing with shoulder tightness, the move makes sense from more than one angle. Huff still has to be added to the 40-man roster. When he is next sent down to Triple-A Columbus, he'll have to be exposed to waivers. He's 3-1 with a 4.07 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 24.1 innings pitched in Columbus. Bauer is heading back up to Cleveland after an effectively wild outing against the Phillies in which he didn't surrender a run and allowed only one hit over five innings but walked six.
