Former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze exchanged at least 200 phone calls with a disassociated booster between January 2015 and the end of Freeze's time as coach last month, USA Today reported Friday, citing phone records it had reviewed. Lee Harris was disassociated from the Rebels program by the university over NCAA allegations that he gave a recruit cash and free food at his Oxford, Miss., restaurant, Funkys Pizza and Daiquiri Bar. Although the nature of the calls between Freeze and Harris is unclear, USA Today noted, they came at a time when Harris became part of the NCAA's probe into Ole Miss and after his interview with the NCAA in November 2016 in which he's accused of giving false information to investigators.
