Hue Jackson went 3-36-1 as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns but is convinced he did an amazing job leading the franchise.
No team in history put together a worse two-season stretch than the Browns did between 2016-17, when they went 1-31.
During an interview with 92.3 The Fan Jackson pushed back against the notion he was a big reason the Browns put together a historically bad stretch with him at the helm.
“I’VE SAID THIS BEFORE I THINK DURING THOSE TIMES [IT WAS] PROBABLY SOME OF THE BEST COACHING I DID CONTRARY TO WHAT PEOPLE THINK BECAUSE YOU’RE ALWAYS DOING ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO FIND A WAY TO WIN. WHETHER IT HAPPENS OR NOT, THAT’S NOT UP TO ME SOMETIMES BUT I THINK I LEARNED A LOT BEING IN THAT SITUATION.”
He also said that his experience in Cleveland proves he “can overcome,” and that “a lot of people would run from it all,” but he hasn’t.
